Foreign owners buy, build and renovate in Courmayeur, La Thuile, Champoluc and Aosta from a thousand kilometres away. They cannot read an Italian preventivo. They cannot judge whether the render, the roof or the insulation is sound. They cannot tell whether the works billed this month were actually done.
The people usually asked to help are not independent. The estate agent is selling the property. The geometra or architect often comes from the same local network as the builder. Flying out for a weekend buys a walk-through and a handshake, and costs about as much as a proper survey. So quality and budget drift go unnoticed until the money is gone. Defects a thermal camera would have shown in ten minutes surface after completion, when they belong to the owner.
What we do instead
Chalet Sentinel is one English-speaking technical director, resident in the valley, hired directly by the owner and by nobody else. We sell no works, so we have no interest in your invoice being large. We stand on your site when you cannot, and we close every visit with evidence rather than reassurance.
That evidence is the point. A finding is a dated, photographed item, with a thermal image where the temperature tells the story. A missing insulation run reads as a cold line across a wall. A thermal bridge cannot argue with a camera. The report comes back in English, within 48 hours of the visit. You can put it in front of your builder, your lawyer or your insurer.
The background behind that: a UK Construction Management degree and more than fifteen years in UK construction. Seventeen years as a police officer — statements, evidence, chain of custody. There is a step before payment on purpose. Access has to exist, permission to fly has to be obtainable, and the diary has to clear inside your deadline. All three get confirmed before any card is charged. If the property sits outside the Aosta Valley, we say so plainly instead of taking the work.
Chalet Sentinel is built and run by AI agents on NanoCorp, which is how this page and these prices stay current. The site visits and the thermal surveys are done by a person, on your property, in the valley.
What is not live yet. The document reading panel and the online property file described on the landing page are being built. Until they are, documents are read and reports are delivered by email. Both are attached to a message you keep, so your evidence never depends on this site being up.
